Join our dynamic Community Engagement Team, "The Core," and become a pivotal force in our endeavors across Corporate Events, Grassroots Outreach, Concerts, Festivals, and more. As a valued member of The Core, you will play a crucial role in elevating the visibility of Vera Creative and our clients.
Here's a glimpse into the three distinctive sectors within The Core that you can contribute to:
Brand Ambassador
- Develop a deep understanding of products/services, including their features, benefits, and usage.
- Act as a positive and enthusiastic representative of brands at various events, concerts, and promotional activities.
- Provide product samples, answer questions, and share tips and product insights with potential customers.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Maintain a clean work environment while handling food.
- Intermediate understanding and speaking of Spanish is a plus.
Grassroots Outreach
- Effectively communicate organizational messages and goals to diverse community groups.
- Must attend bi-weekly team meetings and training starting in March.
- Advocate for the organization's mission, addressing community concerns and building support.
- Capture quantitative data while talking to community members.
- Work with all ages and demographics.
Corporate Events and Conferences
- Serve as the frontline team for events, welcoming attendees, and addressing attendee queries promptly to ensure a positive conference experience.
- Prepared to problem solve and offer solutions or implement contingency plans as needed.
- Assist the registration process, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in for attendees.
As a Core team member, flexibility is key. You can apply to one or all sectors, tailoring your involvement based on your interests and strengths. Our team reserves the right to move members as needed.
Commitment is key, and all Core team members are expected to work at least two Fridays and Saturdays per month.

Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Effective communication skills
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
- Reliable transportation to and from events.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Chicago natives on the south and west sides are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Black and Brown community members are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience in a customer service environment is advantageous.
- Ability to capture compelling content at all events.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Mandatory commitment to work 2 total days that fall on either a Friday or Saturday per month. (Ex. 1 Friday and 1 Saturday per month)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Compensation
- This is a 1099 contract position.
- $17/Hour starting Rate
